Battle of Okinawa
Kamikaze was a Military Air unit that specialized in a extreme but effective attack that can sink a battle ship with one blow. The Kamikaze pilot would get in as close as possible and dive right in to heart of enemy ship trying to do as much damage as possible. For the Japanese, death is the only way to show honor and loyalty to their country. Even though they knew it was a one way trip there was still thousand of willing volunteer stepping up and leading the path to battle. This gave Japan a chance to take the victory right from the Americans. With this new troop they are ready for battle. April 6 1945 The Battle of Okinawa was one of the biggest turning point in the war. 1,465 Kamikaze planes attacked a U.S Base on the small island called Okinawa that was taken over by the Americans. The Kamikaze focus on the battle ships sense they do the most damage and hold the most people. The attack took out 30 U.S warship, 3 merchant ship,and other smaller vessel. With one attack the Kamikaze plane took out 389 men on the USS Bunker Hill. This was a major victory for the Japanese but also losing many soldiers This attack created fear in to the enemy letting them know that the Kamikaze wasn't scare of sacrificing there life for a major attack. Giving them the name of The Wind God.
